Thinking about having my late father's tired old Springfield rebarreled to .338-06. I'm looking at the Pac Nor 5-groove 1:10 twist, but does anyone have advice on some other combination to give good accuracy with 250s and heavier bullets?

I've got a 1 in 10 on my 340PDK and it handles everything I put through it.

As usual just my $.02

Both the Berger and Sierra 300 grainers recommend a 10" Twist. Can't see a need to go faster. Though, I did have a customer supply me with an 8" twist barrel for his .338-06 build.

Thanks Mike I had never pushed anything longer than a long 250. Nice to know I could go 300s but I would like more capacity for the 300s
