Mark,

You need a powder like RL22 or RL25 - or something with equivalent burn rate. A friend of mine had great success with RL25 and 140 grs AB - both in terms of velocity and accuracy. I personally load RL22 because it is hard to source RL25 where I am.

Don't have load details, but my favorite powder for the 270 Wby is IMR7828.

My 270Wby did not seem to like the 140gr bullets I tried but shoots extremely well with 150's using either IMR7828 or H4831. I'm loading a max load of IMR7828 with 150gr Hornady Interlocks and 67.5gr of H4831 with 150gr Barnes TSX's.

I loaded for a 270-338. I believe it only has about a gr more capacity. Anyway with 140 Nosler CT Failsafe My choice was MRP, 7828 and RL25 in that order. Loads real darn close to what jens stated for the MRP and 7828

As usual just my $.02

I got the same results with 140 grain TSX as factory Weatherby load with X-bullet, as follows.

69.5 gr H 4831SC / GM 215M primer / OAL 3.275" / 3058 fps / Mark V Deluxe rebarrel by Hill Country Rifles (to same specs as factory shot out barrel that used to love 150 grain Grand Slams).

The same rifle likes both IMR 4831 and RL-22 with Nosler Partitions at 160 grains, and 150 grain TSX's with RL-22.
