Interesting read, as I have both the 9.3x62 and a couple of .35 Whelens, but no .338/06. I'd be interested if "9.3X62" checked out how the twist stabilized the 280gr Swift bullets in the whelen at 200 yards and beyond; for some "posts" indicate a stability problem with the slower twists at longer ranges and BigRx indicates they may not go straight through "tough animals". I've shot elk with the 250gr bullet with a slow twist whelen and it is impressive; I've not shot anything very big with the 9.3, yet. I agree with Bob on the arguments regarding all three calibers, but it sure is interesting how small diferences in diameter can stir up a controversy. I may have to get a .338/06 to satisfy my curiousity about another "magic" caliber that "out-shoots and out penatrates" all others Regards - Mags | |||
