I've got two, a Gr.III in 30-06 and a Gr.IV in 270, both are better than 1 1/4" guns with several factory loads. Although I don't shoot the .270 that much any more I've never had any kind of failure with either one, both are over 20 years old (although I haven't owned them that long).

My BAR in .270 will outshoot my Winchester Model 70 and Browning A-Bolt. (Strangely, it prefers heavy bullets: 150-gr.) I have never had a malfunction or problem with it and it has become my favorite deer rifle. Good hunting, Bob Scott

You're gonna think I'm full of it but............I had a BAR II with a boss in win .270. Can't remember where I had the boss set but you could take a 130 grain loading, a 140 grain loading, and a 150 grain loading and shoot a 3 shot group of 1". THEY ALL WENT TO THE SAME POINT OF IMPACT. It was beyond belief. I sold the gun cause the boss was just too damn loud and for our wisconsin whitetail in the brush at 50 yds I wanted a '06. Also at that time I didn't know they had come out with the "non muzzle break" attachment that was reasonably priced. NEEDLESS TO SAY--THE GUY WHO BOUGHT IT IS VERY HAPPY WITH IT!!

I have two BARS, one .270 Weatherby mag, one .338 Win. mag and have fired a wide variety of of handloads through them and they have never failed to function perfectly. Both are very accurate, the .338 especially so, it gives the best groups of any rifle Iv'e ever owned.
