LeopardtrackTrophy Bonded Tipped....anyone try it??
I am currently using the 160 grain Accubond in my 7mm Rem Mag but thinking about trying the new TB Tipped bullet. I think that it would still expand nicely and penetrate a bit more than the Accubond.
Any experience with this bullet?

SIR MAUSERI went to Speer's website, only had info on regular TB. IF it's the original bullet but with a tip, then it should easily out-penetrate accubond. Cut-away pictures show solid base of TB vs thin jacket of Accubond. Accubonds are good bullets. Maybe someone else will varify the difference if there is one.

vapodogI'm not sure what the price is on the TB tipped but the regular trophy bonded bullets are much too high for me!
The tipped version wouldn't trip my trigger as tips are more for looks than anything as proven by extremely fine performance fron untipped bullets.
Before I got too wound up with the TB tipped, I'd have a serious look at Northfork and swift A-Frames.....all very excellent bullets and the latter two less than half the price of TB

James CardwellLeopardtrack, My wife and I both used TBT in our 06's to take whitetails here in TX. My Sauer 200 and her Browning safari grade with 180 grain Federal Premium. I shot mine at 180 yards quartering toward me through the front shoulder and exit behind the off shoulder. Down right there and never moved. My wife's buck was broadside at 110 yds, she shot high and took the spine out, I MEAN OUT!! You could stick your fist in the hole.
I was very impressed with this bullets perfomance and have been looking for place to buy them. Haven't seen them anywhere except in Fed Prem ammo. JC

L. David KeithYou might want to check the reviews at Cabela's and Midway. Federal has been eliminating competitors bullets in their cartridges (after using them for years) but a box of .280 Federal's w/TBT's are a staggering $41.95 per box. I haven't seen the TBT's for sale as bullets yet, but I suspect it won't be too far off.

LeopardtrackI found a box in Gander Mtn for $42.99.
They are expensive, but after sight in how much do you shoot anyway? I use cheaper loads for fun.
