I have a Remington 700 in 25-06. I think it is time for a new tube. My goal is to dump a super 22-250 I do not use. I want to use 87 grain Bergers and 75gr A-maxs for Varmits. So that will call for a 1-13 twist. My favorite Deer load is a 100gr B-tip. This calls for 1-12. Will a 12 stabilize the light bullets, or will the 13 handle the 100s? I use this rifle as a back up. It works well on deer, but it is not the primary death stick

Well, if it helps any, I get decent accuracy out of my 2506 with the 75 gr vmax. It has a 1x10 twist.

Yes, a 12 will stablize the lighter bullets. If you only shoot 100 grains or lighter, a 12 should be fine. If you shoot 115-120s as well, then go with a 10. BTW, a 10 will also do fine with the lighter bullets.

I use a 10 in all my 25 caliber hunting rifles...

Good luck.

Go with a 10 twist and don't look back- you are going to use the rifle for hunting and the small potential gain in accuracy by trying to use as little twist as possible will never be a factor in the field.
