My final load is 75.5 gr RL19 in Norma cases with Fed 215M primers set back .03" from lands. I have one book that lists 76 gr as max load. Others manuals have 72.5 gr and 73 gr as max load so start lower and work up. I am getting 2816 to 2844 fps.

I use 71 grs. IMR 4350 with the 225 TSX and Federal 215M primers. I get 2855 fps. average and superb accuracy.

I'll second Geronimo's load withn the exception of H4350 and 70.5grs. This is about 20fps faster which amounts to no diffence. Very accurate bullets that penetrate like mad and ruin very little meat. If you are going for a little flatter shooting load try a 210grn TSX with 72.5grns of H4350 for around 3050fps. Pleae work up to these loads as every gun is different.

RL-19 is a good first choice, some would say the best choice

Alliant certainly would say so, infact they do.... Right on the RL-19 can!

Other excellent choices are H4350 and IMR4350

If you can't find a good load with one of the three with 225gr TSX's don't take it to a gunsmith, hire an exorcist for the rifle...

When my supply of 225gr partitions are exhausted the 225gr TSX will be the only bullet I will load for the 338WinMag.

TJ, I use RL19 in my .338 behind 225 grain TSXs. I don't recall the exact charge off-hand, but I'm fairly sure it's the Barnes book max for regular 225 X bullets. That seems to be about normal for me - the TSXs like to run full throttle (at least X bullet throttle). I start at .05" off the lands as they recommend and go from there. I haven't had to monkey with seating depth yet, as .05" seems to reliably churn out hunting accuracy (1-1.5") in my big game guns.

Have you had the opportunity to take anything with it yet?
