Ruger 77 24" 210 NP IMR 4350 75 gr WLR primer W-W cases 2970 fps - chrono'd 3/4 " or better good case life - in fact I throw them away just because I think they have been reloaded enough. Agree with Mr Day about RL 19 - it takes a fair amount more powder to reach the same velocity - and 4350 pretty much fills up the case to the bottom of the neck as is. 73 gr with 225 Speer GS = 2850 fps. Also tried various magnum primers = no difference at all in velocity - also no change with temperture ranging from 95 deg to 30 deg.

My favorite load for my Browning A-bolt is a 210 Partition with 72.5-73 grains of IMR 4350 ,Remington brass, and federal 215 primers. This is the first load I ever tried in the gun. It shoots .75" MOA all day long, so I never tried to improve on the load. It is devastating on elk !!!! I get 3050 fps from the 26" barrel on my A-Bolt. bowhuntr

Got my .338 Win Mag back from the 'smith. I had a new stock pillar bedded and the barrel floated on my 700 BDL s/s. I have purchased 300 Nosler 210 gr. Partitions to start working up load for this fall. Previously I have only worked up a load with the 180 gr. BT. RE 15 was the most accurate powder to work with 180 BT. I was thinking about starting there and then trying slower powders such as IMR4350, H4350, RE 19 both 4831's and RE 22. What is some of your pet loads with the 210 Partition? Thanks, C-ROY

I'm also a fan of IMR 4350, but my particular .338 (a well worn Sako L61R) gets better accuracy with 71 grains. No two rifles are the same of course, but I'm sure you can work up a good load with that powder somewhere between 70 and 73 grains. The brand of brass you're using might make a difference; the one I quoted is with Federal brass and Win Mag primers.

C-Roy, I've been shooting a Ruger 77 in .338 W.M. since 1974, and reloading for it since same date. My favorite reloads with the 210 gr. Nosler Partition are: Bob Hagel's load from his great book, "Game Loads And Practical Ballistics For The American Hunter." 210 gr. Nosler Partition & 80.0 grains Norma MRP. Chrono'd 2,960 FPS. This shoots 3/4" groups from my Ruger 77, and I've killed three bull elk with it, with 100% satisfactory results. I also cooked up my own load of 72.0 grs IMR 4350, with the same bullet, and it too, shoots 3/4"- 1" groups. I've killed both elk and two mule deer with this load. Again, no problems whatsoever with performance. I use CCI LMR Primers and WW brass. One of my hunting buddies uses Bob Milek's .338 load for the 210 gr. Nosler Partition, and H4831. He got it from an article Milek wrote in the Nov. '87 issue of "Hunting Magazine." He puts down elk very efficiently. 76.0 grs H4831, Fed. 210 Primer & Fed. cases. His chrono showed 3,005 FPS. (My rifle doesn't particularly care for H4831, but I don't know why. No matter, MRP & IMR 4350 do me in good stead.) I've not used the Reloader powders, but I imagine others here can clue you in on that. Good hunting. L.W.
