Bought a cheap Rem 700 over a year ago in .270 WSM. Have not got a chance to hunt with it yet but shooting it is a dream. I have installed a Timney trigger and Houge Overmolded stock and put a Nikon Monarch 5-20 on her. So far it shoots MOA or better depending on the loads. 150 grain Partitions coming in well below MOA. This rifle is well on it's way to becoming my new Go to Rifle once I get some kills with it. Molon Labe New account for Jacobite

Congrats! I bought a used Weatherby Mark V in 270 Weatherby for $800 with a few scuffs on it and I feel the same way. I had given my 40 year old Rem 700 BDL in 270 to my youngest son and was really missing a 270 ... I have a .270 WSM story to tell. I never owned a .270 Win but respected it for years and loaded for buddies who were good hunters of Whitetails. When Winchester came out with the WSM I just could not resist, being a lover of speed. I bought a Ultimate Shadow Stainless and it was a revelation as to flat shooting performance. A 130 grain Northfork at 3450 fps, 140 grain Nosler Accubond and Barnes TSX at 3170 up to 3260 fps. I was so impressed I bought another when Winchester came out with the first South Carolina rifles in Featherweight Deluxe, what a sweet shooter it is. My son and three of my hunting grandsons soon discovered the WSM's and that is all they wanted to shoot. One of the grandson's is left handed who had always shot right handed rifles, thus another WSM. In order to have enough to go around another was required for all the hunters in the family to have one in his hands on first day of Deer season, thus another WSM. I have been hunting Elk yearly since the 80's using .300 Winnys, .340 Wby, .338 Lapua, .358 STA, in other words large bullets shooting very flat. The last three years have hunted with the .270 WSM and enjoyed it very much. With the 150 grain Northfork and 160 grain Nosler Partition at 2965 fps up to 3100 fps (some rifles vary in speed up to 140 fps with the same bullet and load) I feel comfortable with the WSM's in my hands in Elk country. Well that is my .270 WSM story for what it is worth. Good shooting. phurley

Here's my new baby (though it's a 1950s vintage 270 Weatherby). It has the original 3x9 Redfield Tracker scope on it now I took off my 40 plus year old 270 Win (I put a Leupold 4.5x14 on it for my son) ... Congrats again on both of your 270 WSMs! My .270 Wtby during my solo goat hunt last year. I'm liking it more and more. It's a M-70 in a Pacific Research stock topped with a Swaro 3X10X40.
