Do the #'s on the bolt handle and the reciever match? If so then your headspace is probably acceptable. If not then it should be checked by a competent gunsmith and either way it would be best to have it checked. The next thing you need to know is that some early Millsurp 8X57's were made with a slightly smaller bore and are quite dangerous to fire full power amo from.
