seating in the lands

I have a Winchester Model 70 30/06 that has been converted to a 338-06AI with a 24" barrel. I had the gunsmith design this rifle for shooting Nosler partition 210 grain bullets. I believe that I will almost exclusively use this bullet in my hunting. My question is what will the effect be of using larger 225 or 250 grain bullets that will be seated into the lands because of their greater lengnth. I'm not terribly worried about this as I know benchrest shooters that seat their bullets into the lands regularly. I'm just curious if there is really a large pressure spike when this is done. Forgive me for my ignorance as this is my first custom rifle and my reloading has been quite basic in the past. Thanks, Hardley

Seating the bullet INTO the lands will certainly creat a more intense pressure spike. Stay off the lands a bit or reduce the powder charge.
