Guess this is as good of a place to post this as anywhere on the forum.

I highly recommend this to EVERYONE on here.

Yesterday I took the time to drop by the office of one of our members on here, Rogue 6. He has an office in Medford Oregon about 35 miles from my home base.

I had stopped by once before just to meet Rogue 6. However this time I took the time to do so again, and this time took time out of my schedule to just hang loose and Talk Hunting and things.

Rogue 6 is an insurance rep, so he had a few calls. Even tho he had stuff to do like I also did, we just took the time and Talked and BSed about everything from this forum to hunting to shooting to our military times etc.

I can't say when I have spent a more enjoyable afternoon.!!
And we were indoors on a gorgeous spring day, without a rifle in hand.

I really recommend anyone on the forum, if you meet people on the board and have a chance to be able to meet them in person do so. I can't explain the fact of how we all have a common interest on here. Yet it just seemed to explode when Rogue 6 and I just got to sit down and talk. I can't tell you how rewarding it was to just get to know a fellow shooter some more, but we had so much we could share from being on the forum here, there was no ice to break.

I felt so fortunate to be able to meet and talk to a guy from on here, it is an experience that would go beyond your wildest imagination. It sure did for me. And it is all helped along, because both of you will already have so much in common to begin with.

I don;t know how many guys I will ever have the opportunity to meet and sit down with like I did with Rogue 6. But you can bet your bottom dollar, I am going to take advantage of every single opportunity I can.

Two hours sitting down with another forum member was more enjoyable than an entire weekend out hunting my favorite game, or doing my most favorite varminting.

Cheers to all, and good shooting
and Thanks for a great afternoon Rogue 6.

I agree completely Seafire. Eshell and I work only about 10 minutes from one another here in Baltimore. We've gotten together during lunch a few times to talk guns, work on guns, and to exchange equipment (mostly him lending to me). He has allot more knowledge on this stuff than I do, so I have learned quite a bit from him in just the past few months. Hell of a guy too! There are lots of good folks on this forum, and it's a real pleasure to actually meet someone who is interested in this stuff as much I am. I think many others would have similar experiences if they just made the effort.

Been there and done that. When the old Shooters.com was still up I used to do a lot of hanging out on the cast bullet board. One day, while at the range slingin' some of my home made bullets downrange, I stopped to talk with a couple of fellows who just happened to be shooting cast bullets as well. Turned out they also hung out on Shooter's cast bullet room. it's been about two years now, but we still meet every Monday (sometimes Tuesday to accomodate one of the groups schedule) and on Thursdays to shoot out favored type bullets.
I've met others as well at gun shows who hang out on some of the other gun related forums, and it's always been a pleasure. Sure am lookin' forward to meeting even more people.

I could "waste" alot of days just hanging out talking hunting/shooting/army stories. Its nice to just relax with friends. On another thread here a couple of guys are all pissed off about nothing important, just custom rifles. You know they might have gotten along great if they met in person, but here they just insult each other. I just don't want Mortie and his little woman stopping by.

We (on another site) do that a couple times a year. Things like going to gunshows and having a "shoot" Really lots of fun.

I would encourage anyone in a local area to get together.

Seafire, That is one of the best things about Bushnell Outdoors. We have more or less regular get togethers for BBQ's and BS sessions. In Feb. I went from up here in the Vancouver area, all the way to Reedsport just to meet with another BO member from Cal. who had business in that town. Now if I had known of you guys it would have been neat to stop in for coffee as I was going right by there anywho. At this time Canuck2 and I are arangeing a BBQ for the May longweekend in Grand Forks,BC and are expecting visitors from Montana and are hoping for friends from Wyoming to drop in. You are right, these meetings are fun! derf

Derf,

Keep me posted on that BBQ. I went on line and signed up for Bushnell's Outdoor after you told me about it.

( Oooops, forgot), Eh?

Cheers and Good Shooting,

Back in 98?? 2000?? A bunch of us met at the SCI Convention and had a nice time. Chic Worthing hosted me into the Custom Gun Makers Guild Show which I really enjoyed and appreciated the entry. Met Allan Day then shared a flight over to RSA with him in 2000. "Ski Bum" is not too far away over in Kalispell, we share e mails regularly.

I've had the pleasure of meeting several of the regulars and it was surely worth the time and trouble.

Anyone going to the Big Reno gun show in three weeks?? Going to try to attend with a few friends.

I have met people from other forums and even endedup hunting for nearly two weeks this past deer season with one of the guys. I had the opportunity to help Oldsarge out with getting pictures of his 318WR up on the African board here. He's a neat guy with some very nice rifles. We had a nice visit and it was a good time.

I know that Shumba isn't too far from me either and certainly others as well. It's always fun to put faces and voices to screen names.

We (StuC, Collani, a colleague of his and myself) have set up the "Central Zurich Rifle Nut Club" after meeting via AR. Neat stuff, we have lunch once a month, and will hopefully meet for outings to the range as well. We seem to have no shortage of subjects! AR has worked wonders over here in Zurich! Make sure you contact us whenever you are in town

I met up with a member of this forum friday morning for the first time. I brought a handfull of rifles with me and we hung out at the rifle range in Poco for the morning. It just seemed like a natural place to meet and shoot the shit so to speak. I'm really glad to have taken the time to meet a new quality like minded person. I hope some more people will do the same.

I met another fellow off Huntshoot last year. He was looking for a moose shed to do some art work with and I dropped one by his house. I told him to e-mail me if he wanted to know somewhere to tag a deer in the Cariboo. He e-mailed me and I got him his deer. He seems like a real nice guy and a soldier too.

You can never have too many hunting buddies!!

One of our Canadian boards has regular shooting events, I've been to three so far. Well attended indoor IPSIC style shoots, and outdoor "blast off" shoots where anything goes.
We have a lot of fun.

I have made friends with several people through the net, including JOHAN and CCHunter from AR who both live not far away from me (even if I have not met CCHunter for real yet). Also HerrBerg and Linkis who are here on AR as well, even if we met on another forum. We are a gang who have got to know each other over the net and have a lot of contact on a private forum and hunt together several times a year and everytime I say to myself: Internet is fantastic!

Regards,
Martin
