Hello All

Last Year I bought a fine example of Bubba's handy work with the intention of using it as a practice/training gun and ultimately turning it into a Eargisplittenloudenboomer. As the saying goes "the best laid plans of mice and men" etc...etc. I need a little guidance on what I should expect to get if I decide to sell or trade the gun and it's parts.

M1917 Enfield. Eddystone reciever. Very late production. Probably one of the last made. No milsurp sights left.
Needs bluing
I installed a Timney trigger
Gunsmith did a cut and crown.
22" two groove barrel
I have the cock on open kit. It isn't installed
I have the Redding 721 one piece scope mount that Bubba had installed.
Stock is Walnut? It has been stripped. No recoil pad.
Has the 6 shot mag and all the milsurp mag parts.

I did shoot it a few times. Liked 180 bullets. Didn't like 165gr BT's.

I have had it for a year with no finish date in sight. I now have two milsurps in line for fixing up. 30-06 bores me to tears. I have a nice new Magnumb to play with. I might try to sell/trade this admitted basket case.

I would like some opinions on just what this sort of basket case should go for?

Thanks
ZM

If it's of any help. I bought a sported eddystone earlier this year. Was original except the stock had been reworked to a sporter configuration and wasn't D&T's. I gave $50 for it.

I know eddystones aren't the preferred choice for enfields but I think it was worth it.

It's hard to say without seeing a picture of how the action has been modified. But if the receiver has been milled to the same shape as a remington model 30 (this is typical) then it should fetch about $150 as a project gun with the trigger and cocking kit. Maybe a little more if the stock is decent. I have sold similar enfields very quickly on classified forums for around that much.

I have a couple of bad pics of the reciever. The scope mount is shown on one of them.

I am debating putting it up on Gunbroker and letting the market dictate the price.
