Bought this a while ago but haven't shot it for last few years because my range had a ban on calibers over 7mm due to a pending lawsuit. That was lifted this year so I was able to get a little range time. I also just received the McMillan which I ordered in March. I hope to finally blood it this year. It's a Ruger 338 Federal. I'm using 185 TTSX behind 48 grains of 2230 which is good for 2800 fps. It's wearing a VX3 1.5x5 with a German #4.  | ||

I see you are using aftermarket rings which appear to clamp onto the Ruger scallop cuts. Talleys, or...? Do they have some specific advantage over the Ruger factory rings? Nice gun. | |||

They are Warne. Nothing wrong with Ruger rings. If I remember correctly, I couldn't find my factor rings. | |||
