Give me a can of Krylon, some used coffee grounds and some old shoe laces and I'll give you a shiny rifle and a bowl of hobo chili. Wink

If the inside the barrel is decent wouldn't take much to get her shooting.

it would be fun to dink around with for 50 dollars or so not the price they are asking for it.

I forgot about the gun. All I can think about now is CHILI!!!!
A few others: Virtually new (wear all over the bolt), exhibition walnut (grade 3 on a good day), drop it in your custom stock and voila! (I wish it was that easy pal), African Safari this or that (uh, Prestige not A.S.), top quality engraving (using a dull wood chisel??)), new old stock (that was under a rock maybe)and the list goes on. Love it.

When he said the bolt was froze, I had my doubts that it would ever be safe to fire. I guess it depends how long it has been since it seized up.
$50 sounds about right for a a wall hanger.

Atkinson,
Yeah. Near minty is ideal.
If I was to start another project, first requirement would be a nice tight bolt, light surface clean up is no big deal.
Maybe rusty and weathered like the auction rifle is IN these days.
Have you seen some of the money being spent on weathered cars and trucks from the 40's and 50's? Crazy.

On the bright side, I think we'll have plenty of time to ponder whether to buy this one.
