Barnes lists this bullet under the heading 6.8mm rather than with the other .277 bullets. Is there any reason not to load this in the .270 Win or WSM at warp speed for little deer? Ed

Big Ed, I have been loading the 110TSX for as long as it has been out for both the 270Win and 270WSM. In a word..it is AWESOME for deer and lopes. It will easily do 3400+ from the WSM and nearly that fast from the 270 Win. Accuracy has been extremely good and is one of the few TSXs I can get to shoot accurately. Try it, you'll love it!

Ya know Ed,

I don't buy into the concept of a fast cartridge and bullet for shooting these small blacktails....

I prefer a moderate velocity round on them as they are not much to take one down...

however, one really nice thing about that TSX.. is it can satisfy both guys like you and I with different ideals on shooting blacktails...

it can work great at low velocity and work just as well as at rocket MVs....

don't we hunters wish all bullets could do that!!!!!

I am not normally a Barnes fan, but they hit a home run with those TSXs!!!

good luck out there this season with it!

Do a search in American Big Game Hunting for some past posts of mine regarding antelope and my brother. In short (yea right, like I can ever be brief), it is a remarkable bullet, especially for the 270WIN. I used IMR 4350 for my brother's loads.

Excellent groups. He's taken a few antelope now with it and quite a few deer, even a large bodied Kentucky buck last year.

I'd use it with total confidence. I have several kills on video. It has pretty much "stiff legged" each animal but one.

I shot an antelope and about 1/2 dozen deer in fall 06 with this bullet.

They work. Velocity was running 3250fps and I actually recovered two with textbook Barnes expansion and both weighed 109gr.

One was Texas heart shot on a buck wounded by another hunter. Entered the scrotum and found in the neck meat.

Second was a severe quartering away. On a dead but didn't know it, buck. The bullet entered the the rear ham and penetrated completely and was found in the offside neck meat also.

So, they work. I can't help but wonder if I was shooting a 130gr TSX's if I would've recovered those bullets.

After shooting 270's for about 25 years, I have only recovered 4 bullets and two of those were reduced loads shot by my nephews.

I used the 110 gr TSX in my 6.8 SPC Contender,15" barrel. They work well at about 2500 FPS tooWink

This buck at 80 yds.

Exit on 150 yd shot.

Exit wound on 50 yds shot.

I love the 6.8/110gr TSX combo. Im sure, just as the others have said, that its even better out of the 270 Win,WSM etc.

I use 68gr of IMR7828 behind the 110 TSX in my 270 WSM with great results. Eleven pigs from 50 to 300 pounds. I use a Ruger No.1 with a 26 inch barrel.

Next I'm going to try the 130 TSX in my 300WSM.
