I've seen one of these in France for 60 Euros (about 60 US Dollars or 55 UK Pounds). New. But the ON/OFF switch seemed a bit reluctant to work properly all the time. Are they any good and is the ON/OFF switch problem a known issue? Also do the nylon bore guidesd last well or do they fail? Thanks in advance for any feedback good or bad!

Enfield, I would say that it is S0-SO. It works OK, chews through batteries pretty quick and the arbors are marginally stable. They have a TINY screw that you turn in to 'set' the arbor onto the laser body, it is not real precise. It is very fast, I use it at fifty yards to get on paper, and it does that very quickly. I woud buy another regular style boresighter/collimator instead if I had to do it again. Or a good qyality laser that is the cartridge replacement style, I have used those once or twice, and feel they are much more precise, albeit very much more expensive.

I recently got a BSA boresight. The package comes with metal dowels for all calibers. An aperture with a grid slides on the end of the dowel. Theoretically you line up your scope dead center on the grid. It works pretty well...at least it gets you on the paper. Once zeroed in at the range I put the dowel and grid aperture back on and logged exactly which grid line I was on for my rifle to be zeroed in. I use it to check my scope before I go out. If the scope is not on the grid line it should be I correct elevation or windage. It took a little range time to develop the grid chart...but who cares...just more reason to shoot. There are some improvements they could make. 1. the dowel and grid aperture tends to roll back and forth to easily. Fixed using some tape. 2. you need a low mount scope. The grid aperture does not elevate. Just my 2 cents. Ken

Thanks for that tip! I use Redfield HIGH Mounts on a Parker Hale Mauser action so maybe that might cause problems. I'll make sure I take the rifle with me if I see one to buy.
