Well, vom Hoffe made a 7mm Super Express, which is basically a 7mm Dakota (3.34" COL on a Jeffery case.) And there's the 7x61mm Sharpe & Hart, which is sometimes called the Super Norma, basically a Rem Mag shortened 1/10" or so. Get a round out, measure the case head, body length, dia at shoulder, case length, and get back to us. Also, anything written on the casehead.

Could it be the 300 Weatherby Mag necked down to 7MM? It was popular for a while, and possibly the predissor of the 7MM STW.

There is also the 7MM Mashburn Super Magnum, a cartridge made popular by Warren Page and Bob Hagel. This cartridge is the one which inspired Remington to come out with the 7MM Rem mag. The Mashburn falls in between the 7mm Rem mag and the STW & Ultra mag versions. My rifle in the Mashburn version shoots 160g Nosler's at 3350 fps and 175g at over 3100.

I'll try to get my hands on a round. What I was told is that if you put the round next to a 7mm Remington Mag on a table you cant tell the difference. The Case is headstamped 7mm Super Mag.

Well The 7X61 Sharp & Hart or 7X61 super is very much like a 7mm rem mag, the most distinctive difference is that the 7X61 has a 44 degree shoulder angle, while rem has 25 degrees. performance is about the same. 7X61 has a longer neck than the 7mm rem. / JOHAN
