Speaking of '94s I had a M94 XTR in the
375 win, beautiful gun, I would like to
have that back. and a Blackhawk I had
in .41 mag, and a Remington 700 220 swift
it was a real piece,,, heck I want 'em all
back. Probably 30 to 40 guns I once had.
I moved about 5 times in 4 years and got
fed up with moving 'em all around and keeping
up with 'em..... sold 10 of them in 2 weeks
boy was I dumb......hey but I still have 15 or so. he he.....I won't thank you for reminding
me of this.....,but I do forgive you......

A Berreta 57E 12 gauge and a Colt Officers Model Match. Got both for a very good price but money got tight and had other interests. Four I have now will always stay, A High Standard Supermatic Citation, A BSA Model 12 Martini in .220 (22LR) A Sako Finnbear in 6.5X55 and a gun that was willed unexpected to me, a 1955 Model 70 in 300H&H. These will stay in the family.

I've parted with very few guns. The three I wish I'd held on to were;

1. Type 2 commercial Mauser 8x57 with double set triggers.

2. Colt Diamondback 38 special 4" barrel.

3. Ithaca SKB Model 100 20 gauge.

I did sell a Jeffery in 404 Jeffery to a board member here thinking I would find a better one- wish I still had that

And I did sell a Mauser M03 in 300 WM and 375 H&H I wish I still had

and a Dakota Traveler set in 300 wm and 375H&H

I once had a Stainless Remington 700 in 375H&H. I miss that rifle and it's voluminous boom. I only shot one box through it in the 2 years I had it.

Back in 2004, I traded it for a 300WSM and wish I never had.

Gidday Guys,

When I jettisoned the last parasite (wife) I got screwed over and had to sell my Sako Forrester in 243.

I offer my left testicle but as she had already ripped them to pieces she knew she would do more damage by insisting the Sako went with her.

I pine for that rifle every day.

Happy Hunring

My Rem 700 BDL in .243. After I got the action and trigger worked over, it shot dime size 3 shot groups at 100 yards regularly with handloads Killed a bunch of deer, javelina, bears and a few elk with it.

If I sell them I want something else thats better in my mind. That being said there are only two I regret. A 270 Remington model 721. I have never owned another that groups as well as that one did. The second is a Marlin lever gun in 44 mag. I can't for the life of me figure out why I sold that one. DW

I can't think of a single gun I've ever had that I got rid of (and in the last 60+ years since my first one I've had plenty and have not forgotten a single one) that I have not regreted getting rid of and don't wish I had it back. I may be different from most as I have NEVER bought a gun I didn't really want.

As with most, I regret selling most of them. Most regretted is a Rem 660 that was reamed from .222 to .223 and extremely accurate. Next is a Browning Grade III 20 ga.
Not regretted at all was a lefthand Rem 700 that, despite bedding, lapping, etc., never shot better than a 2-1/2" group...and that only ocassionally.

My 348 win mod 71. When I bought it, the metal and blueing were as good as any 71 I had ever seen; Just about out of the box.
A "past" owner had cut the but stock off to less than 13" LOP and ground down the steel butt plate to fit the smaller dimensions and put a little round brass compass on the right side of the stock.
I wish I would have kept the gun and restocked it. Heck with the resale value!

The guy I sold it to is a dealer and he still has it 15 years later. Wouldn't sell it back when once I asked.
