I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this?
Thought I'd post how well my grandson and I like a new recoil pad. It is a Kick -Eze. Had a gunsmith install it as wanted it to look nice on the Tikka Whitetail hunter my grandson uses. My grandson feels the gun, a 30 '06 kicks like his mother's .243. I didn't believe it so I shot the gun, the recoil reduction was tremendous but I have to admit the stock pad that comes with the Tikka is about the poorest I've ever seen, otherwise the gun is fine. So, I bought a Kick-Eze for my .338 but need to figure out how to remove the stock pad fm my Browning Stainless Stalker. Any help here??? I'll prob get a gunsmith to "fit" it eventually but would like to get it on before cow elk season in Nov. Ray

Your running out of time Ray. Best to hunt with the rifle as it is and not risk the chance that it's tied up so long that you can't practice with it before hand.

Just wear a heavy coat or something at the range. When hunting it won't matter much as you know as long as you make sure not to flinch.

I like these new pads also. I have not seen that one but I have shot rifles with the Decelerator and it's about time we had that option. There is another brand out called the Limb Saver that's soft also. I hope these pads don't squish flat sitting on their butt's.

There are slip on recoil pads at Walmart for $10. That's an easier route for right now if you must have more padding.

I rx'd an answer to this question about pad replacement on another site. There are two slots, one slightly below top of pad and other slightly above bottom of pad. These slots are darn near impossible to see but careful probing with a common screwdriver will reveal them. Then use a phillips screwdriver to reach down into the slot and loosen the 2 screws. Thought someone might be interested. Ray

Yep, that standard pad on the Tikkas is worthless. I put a Pachmayr Decelerator on my .338 Tikka, and I love the difference.

I have a decelerator on my 300 weatherby and like it. I want to get a limb-saver but the goofy guy that advertises them is making me want another brand. I am going to look into the kick-eze or just get another decelerator.

Limb saver, any opne here hav one? Since my shoulder surgery I use a mag shoulder pad for bench shooting but have thought about the limb saver. My only thought would be if it is too sticky and may cause problems mounting the quickly. Any comments on it?

Don't know about the Limb Saver, but I have a Past Magnum Recoil Shield that works very well. Got it after seeing a recommendation on the old Shooters board, and it works as advertised. (Actually, I've never seen an ad for it, and had to hunt for it after seeing it recommended.)

The Limbsaver is the new R3 pad on this year's Remingtons, I believe. - Dan

Hey Steve in MI , I put a limbsaver on a Browning A-bolt and it works and fits great. The reason I went with it was because limbsaver offered a prefit pad for the Browning for the new WSM calibers and pachymeyer did not. After using it, I prefer it over the decelerator , I think it reduces recoil better than the decelerators. Just my 2 cents worth

If anybody wants to go a step further in recoil protection, Kick-Eez also offers pads for your trigger finger. Brownells www.brownells.com sells them. It's called Finger-Eez. I have big hands and large fingers; I bought a Large, but it was too big. The medium fit fine. The idea is to keep the triggerguard from banging your finger. Having put one on but never fired a round while having it on, I cannot see how it cannot help. They cost about $12 or so. Unless you are Andre the Giant, I suggest you try the Medium or Small size.
