I've been looking for the same thing except for a 550 safari magnum. From what I've found, no one make one. There are a couple different one's that can be modified by a gunsmith to work. If you do a search for CZ 550 and receiver sights, you will find out the ones that can be made to work. I don't recall at the moment the name of the manufactures.

I used the rear scope base that XS Sight Systems makes for the Remington 700. Complete pain in the ass, and I can't say that I recommend it.

The 550 American, especially in 9.3x62, cries out for a steel ghost ring sight that clamps into the rear scope base.

Thanks for the responses guys, I contacted Bo at XS asking about the Sako backup and it seems it wont work either because of the taper of the Sako. How hard could it be to make one for a 19mm dovetail to fit the reciever bridge?

I believe Brockman of ?Idaho makes a pop up peep sight which dove tails into Talley bases.

There are photographs of his 'working rifle', a CZ 550 with coffee/ brown laminate wood stock. This has, if I remember correctly, a peep sight on the rear base.

The scope is a ?Leupold 1.5 -5x and beneath the ocular bell in the image, you can see the spring activated peep in the pushed down position.

Is the NECG backup aperture adaptable? About $85.00 if I remember. Email them and see what Dieter says. Packy

I want to let you know, that I sent emails to NECG at the beginning of February this year, to inquire about the availability of a peep sight for the for the CZ 550 rifles. This is what a Mr. Mark Cromwell answered:

The ghost ring peep for the CZ / Brno actually would be used as a back
up to the scope and could only be used once the scope was removed. This
sight is so new we do not have photos yet but it does not resemble the
other sights in that this is an "eye hook style" ghost ring design
versus the aperture style designs used in the other peeps we offer. The
windage is adjusted in the same way as our RUGER peep between the base
clamps.

I will probably buy one of these sights in the near future. If you get one can you please post photos of if and/or it mounted on your rifle. I wild like to see how it looks like.
