Anyone have any experience on game with the Trophy Bonded Tip bullets by Federal?
These are the bullets based on the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw with a translucent poly tip. Planning on using factory Federal Vital-Shok 180 grain, 300 Win Mag, on a mule deer hunt in a couple of weeks and have not heard much info on how they perform in the field.
They shoot good out of my Ruger stainless/laminate 300 WM and I plan to give them a go. Photo of a target from a couple of weeks ago at the range. The cloverleaf is from the bench at 100 yards and the other two are from shooting off of a monopod shooting stick at the same distance.

I've used the 180 grain in a .300WSM with great results on does in South Texas. I generally use my African calibres just for practice, but used the .300 with that bullet last year with very good results.
used 165 tbt on a black bear out of my 06. in and out, bear went maby 10 yeards. tried to dig the bullitttt out from the furrow in the ground but needed a big tool to reach that deep. shoots good for me as well, i do my part it will go under 1 inch .
I used them in my 300 RUM ever since they came out and its my favorite ammo out of it used it on deer, boar and antelope with excellent results also its one of the cheaper factory load for the 300 RUM

I killed this Utah mule deer buck using the 300WM a few weeks ago using the Trophy Tip and was very pleased with the performance. Quartering away shot at 168 yards with complete penetration... deer went about 30-40 yards after the hit.
