Has anyone really reached published velocities?

I am maxing out at 3256 with 180 gr Swift Aframe with 98 gr of Retumbo and this is with a shilen match @ 28 inches. These loads were chronaghraphed while I was breaking in the barrel currently at 10 shots.

I'd try Reloader 25 with the 180, or perhaps even better, N570.

N570 gave me the best accuracy with my rifle with 200grain projectiles, but not chronographed....but I reached a safe maximum load as per the VihtaVuori manual. It is a double based 'high energy' powder and they do tend to give higher velocities than their normal powders.......

They list a powder charge of 100.9grains as maximum for their 185 Scenar bullet (match hollow point) for a velocity of 3356fps.........

Not as large as say IMR 7828, AIU.

I've seen it advertised in Precision Shooter?........Bruno's; I think.........

Same burn rate as Retumbo, just more energy and better accuracy.

Well a 180 grain bullet going 3200 fps is going to kill pretty much anything it hits inside of 1000 yards.

I also have a 28" Shilen Match bbl on mine. Shilen did the work. I've read that Shilen bores are a little tighter so you may not get published max powder charges b4 you start to see pressure signs.

I'm shooting 89.0 Re25 with a 200 grain bullet and trajectory is impressive. Don't know velocity. I may try to find some N570 and try it.

H1000(2217 in Oz) worked very well in mine with 168 TSX's but RE-25 just shaded it for accuracy..........
