P.S. congrats on your new toy. It sounds like a winner. And btw, I would choose another bullet for hunting.

Okay, I'll start.

No, Matchkings are not game bullets.

I am bursting with curiosity...who is this Quebec gunsmith?

The reason that I ask is that I have not heard of many (read: hardly any) decent gunsmiths here in Quebec. I would like to have a new contact.

There was one 1000 yard shooter/gunsmith by the name of "Wiper" that apparently did some decent work in the past.

'Seriously', yes the MK will work on deer. They are; however, not a deer bullet and I personally would prefer to use a premium game bullet.

Yes make no, none, zerro doubt about it they will work on game. Take it from a fella that has used them and seen them used on a lot of game. Do not listen to the tribe of those that have not used it.....at least that is the way my mind works.

Shooting deer with SMK is about as stupid as putting a muzzle brake on a 300 Win Mag.
Saw the thing off and use bullets designed for hunting..............DJ

....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

DJ - I'll bite, and just for the record please state the experience you have with using MK's on game.

I would imagine after a response as such it could only mean that you seen it used many a time and with dismal failures.

Thx

Sounds like you have a jealousy issue!

I'm not big on muzzle breaks at all. But calling someone stupid? I think it's great he has been able to get what He wanted!

And yes Sierra MK will work on deer. I think the choice could be better and the GameKings shoot pretty close with the MK and the GK's are made for hunting. Deer are easy to kill. What bullet you choose is way down on the list of importance I think. Nate

Shootaway, I'd like to see some pics if you can.

I've thought of using a Sako action to build a varminter on as I like the lines. Nate

Of course the MatchKings will work on deer - usually. Of course you can carry a bale of hay in a Corvetette - that doesn't make it a pick-up truck, though. If you need to carry hay, buy something that was designed to do it. You, the Corvette, and the hay will all be happier.
