It's an OMG moment. I've always' wondered why you don't see more full blown custom rifles built on CZ actions.
Very nice!
I'm like the others. More pictures and details please.
Thanks for letting us see it!

I did not realize the pictures where so big, but at least you can see the wood better.
I have a twin in 404 Jeffery Wayne made last year. Most likely will have him make a 375 next.

Idaho SharpshooterWayne, just does marvelous things with a CZ action. I think the thing that stands in the way of seeing lots more custom CZs is their availability at a reasonable price. We tend to value things inversely proportionally to their cost. If it took a year's wait to get one and the price were to double, custom gunbuilders would be touting them as T-H-E replacement for the OM-70.
I'm adding them to my permanent collection as finances allow, two or three a year. After my next trip to Africa I am going to have Wayne do one for me. Now to figure out which caliber...

RustyI own a CZ in 9.3X62. Only problem I have is that it isn't as good looking as your rifle!

Man! That thing is a work of beauty. Wayne is a nice guy to work with as well. Had my CZ 550 in 9.3x62 looked that good last September when I shot my bull moose, I might have shot it with the rifle instead of my 4-5/8" Blackhawk in 45 LC @ 15 yds. Kind of hard to get the warm and fuzzies on a cold winter night wiping down a stainless steel rifle with a polygoshknowswhat stock and thinking back on years gone by. Tradewinds rifle looks like an heirloom looking for a place to happen. If it shoots as nice as it looks it'll be part of many memories.

Rick RMr. Winds,
If you have a .22 and a 12 ga half as nice as those rifles you can quit gun buying for the rest of your days. You'll never top them and you can hunt any animal on the planet.

All of Waynes Rifles have shot great so far, we are using this load, GS Custom Bullets, in the 404 this year for Buffalo. I think I might be able to get a better group with a more powerful scope, but I think this is great group in a 404, it is very consistant shooting with both the GS Customs and the TSX. I have shot several tighter groups with the 400 Gr. TSX.

My friend has a 485 Lott and it shoots great, and kicks a lot less than I expected. I believe because of the stock design.

Your friends Lott, was it stocked by Wayne?

I just ran your load through my QuickLoad and it comes up about 3K over what QuickLoad says is max psi. Just wanted to let you know.

gerrybdoes quickload know the gs custom bullets or just goes by the bullett weight. Almost every quick load i have read on gs customs says they are over max yet gerard has targeted velocity and they seem to shoot great at those speeds. I also have this exact gun and have shot it on numerous african animals with no problems. just curious id the drive bands lower pressure i really do not know thanks

capowardQuickLoad notes the Peizo CIP MAP for the .404 Jeffery as 52,939 PSI/3,650 BAR at 3.530" COAL; it however notes the Peizo CIP MAP for the .375 H&H as 62,366 PSI/4,300 BAR at 3.6" COAL.
So perhaps the appropriate question should be, "is a 56,319 psi loading safe in a modern rifle such as the CZ550?" With modern high quality brass I believe so.

Dave BushThe 9.3X62 is just a superb cartridge and the CZs are real shooters. That 250 grain TSX bullet turns this cartridge into a super medium bore.
