I have had a couple of them over the years. The one I have now is built on a lightweight 98 action, Beuhler safety, 20" barrel, tefloned, in a nice classic walnut stock. Not the lightest 350 I've ever owned, but the one I like the best. It allows me to seat bullets out to 3.2" which gets me 2615 fps with 250 gr Hornady's or Speer's. It is a very useful cartridge, with much heavier bullet weights then the 30's, and a trajectory that really isn't that far behind an -06. Works great on elk and moose. You could also say the same about the 35 Whelen, 35 Whelen AI, or the 35 Brown-Whelen, (two of which I also have),but I like the 350 the best. - Dan

I don't have one but the newest Ruger catalog shows them offering it only in 24 inch barreled models of the MKII; unusual since the history of this cartridge was always about 20 inch or shorter barrels.

Who out there has a 350. Are you happy with it or not? What did you buy/orbuild it on? I have a 600 but am thinking of a hunting rifle.

I have a Remington Custom Shop Model 7 in .350 Rem. Mag. It had some problems when I first got it, but after two trips back to Remington, it is just fine. It was somewhat finicky when I was finding the right load for accuracy, but now I get about 2600 fps with a 225 grain X-bullet and a reasonable load of IMR4320. Accuracy is about an inch. I've never shot an animal with it that ran more than a few feet, most just died right then.

From the factory it came with a really neat McMillan stock that isn't available to the public market and the metal came with a matte finish that is really tough and rust resistant.

I have a 1.5x5 Leupold on it and find it about right for anything up to Buffalo. Recoil is not bad at all, even though the gun is very, very light. I attribute that to the great stock design. You can see a picture of the gun at Model 7 Picture/Description .

Had one of the original Rem 700 BDL's with 24" barrel from the run in 1972. Shot great with everything from 158 gr cast bullets up to full house 250 gr loads, and closely approximates the 338 out to 200 yards. 225 and 250 bullets and IMR 4320 was always the most accurate load for mine. Was a dynomite elk killer in the timber, and accounted for 4 or 5 bulls. A sweet talking Californian wanted it for hunting big pigs on his ranch, and I let it go. Worst mistake I ever made; thinking about one of the new 673 Guide Guns, but can't get past that ugly rib sight. I prefer a smooth barrel look, and never did like the 600/660 line because of the rib. A Kevlar Model 7 would sure be sexy!

Cory,
I coldn't get my 600 to shoot 250's worth a crap. It shot 200 like a champ. That is why I'm going to use a 1-12 twist on my next 350. I think my 600 is a 1-16.

I have M600 in 350 mag and it is one sweet shooting rifle.

It will under 1 inch at 100 yards if I do my part.

I also use 4320 with Speer 250 gr Spitzers with excellent results.

I have a 700 classic in 350 Rem Mag with a Leupold 2.5-8 vari-x III and it shoots great with 225 grain partiions and a max load of 2015. Sure does have a loud bark though. It has a 22" barrel and I put it in a synthetic stock.
