For powder in my 300 Rem Ultra Mag I use H1000. Using that I can get Max loads. | |||

I HAVE FOUND H1000 TO BE A GOOD POWDER FOR THE 7MM ULTRA, BUT JUST CAUSE I COULD, WANTED TO TRY RETUMBO AND WAS VERY WELL PLEASED. I FOUND THAT WITH THE SLOWER BURN RATE MORE POWDER ALSO MEANT LESS AIR VOID WHICH HAS A TENDENCY TO IMPROVE ACCURACY ! | |||

Unfortunately, VV's website tops out with a 200 gr bullet with their load data. They list 83 gr as a min for the 200, so, you'll likely be under that considerably for a 240 to start. Oh, and welcome to AR. I see this is your first post. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns | |||

artic70, I worked up a load with my custom 300RUM and the 200 Lapus Naturalis; 215M primer, Nosler case and a charge of 93.5grains of N570 gave 3148fps.........with great accuracy. Verbera!, Iugula!, Iugula!!! Blair. | |||

We use 180gr barnes tsx with Retumbo and it shoots great | |||

180gr tsx and r-25 produces 3380fps and averages 5/8" groups at 100 yards. | |||
