Two of my friends have them in .350 RM and I have a 600 and 660. I did the initial loading for one of my friends guns before he got his own dies and the 2.800 is still the max length.

| RJM,
Thanks for the info. Man, I've been a devoted "Big Green" follower since '68 but I still have to admit, they have one of the strangest production outlooks one could imagine. I guess giving a bit more room in the magazine and a bit more lead in the barrel was too costly for production... but then why re-introduce an old handicap? I also wondered what they had in mind with their short action magnums that always seem to fall on the heals of Winchester offerings, but with slightly less performance. Throw the 8mm Magnum into this lot of decisions and you kind of wonder who's conning the boat. Oh well, guess I'll keep looking for a 600 and not try to make the 350 something it's not. Thanks again. |

| If you want longer length ruger is the only production gun that will give it. I can go about 2.885 with mine in the mag. Chamber could take 2.920. I also have a remington 660. I don't shot it much. Price was right though. Not as nice as my other 600 and 660 though conditon wise. Those two are just too pretty to take in the woods. I have a sytnthetic stock on the other 660 and condition wise I would not be afraid to take it in the woods. Still nice but not like new in box. But my ruger is just more practical being an all weather version and shoots unbelievable 1/2 inch groups or better. I was out burning up some ammo recently. I put ten rounds in just under 3/4" rapid fire without letting it cool down. Shoots better than any remington 600 or 660 I have seen. If I need something short and handy I can go to one of my two 358 blrs. Another option to consider if you want something lighter and handier than the 673 is the model 7. It is available in 350 and if you don't like your shoulder you can get a lightweight kevlar stocked version from the custom shop. |

| Brownells sells an extended magazine box, or you can just extend it yourself, it isn't that hard. I built a 284 Win on a 600 action, and lengthened the box to allow 3.1" COL. - dan

| If your buiding on the action that is an option. But with a standard 600 or 660 in 350 you still have to watch the chamber length. I have three total aand all of them have a short chamber to match the magazine. |
