Midway liats the .366 286gr as discontinued and it does not show on the regular Nosler website. Hmmm

Hmmm a Swedish retailer lists the 9,3 286 partition at ~1,9us$ a piece and Norma oryx at ~1,3us$. Could be a victim of a high dollar.

The 286-grain bullet is probably more intrinsic to the 9.3 than was the 250-grain was to the 338WM, so I doubt if it will be missing long. And I don't even have a 9.3x62 yet. If I did I might understand, because whenever I find a product I really like, they always stop making it.

No loss. They don't go fast enough to make standard cup and core bullets, not work.

So true. Stay with the cup and core. You gain nothing but waste money with premiums. People Sleep Peacefully in Their Beds at Night Only Because Rough Men Stand Ready to Do Violence on Their Behalf.

I would hate to see the 9.3mm NP go away, but at least the A-Frame is still around. There are lots of other great bullets to choose from as well. I wish there was a cheap c and c 230 grainer available. Matt FISH!! Wow, so true; they have them in Europe but are hard to get here and not competitively priced (Norma). I was on a campaign to get Speer to make them since they already made the 235 grain 375, it would be simple to just make it in .366. I called them a few years ago and they said there would be no demand, so, no. Which, BTW, I have done; squeeze 375 bullets down in a die I made for my rockchucker. Back in the dark ages before we had any 9.3 bullets, I would take any 375 and it is easy to do.

I would bet that GS Customs does or would make a 230 gr. 9.3x62 bullet, they made me a 102 gr. 25-35 flat point bullet that made the 25-35 a better whitetail rifle in that it shoots a heck of a lot flatter over distant ranges such as 300 yards. One of my favorite bullets in the 9.3x62 is the 250 gr. Barnes TTSX. I recovered a bullet that went diagonally through a waterbuck from the front of the right shoulder to under the skin on the left hind quarter. That was about 4 feet of penetration. He ran less than 20 yards and was dead. That was about 4 feet of penetration. I have also had good luck with the Nosler 250 gr. accubond. It is accurate and so far has made 7 one-shot kills on whitetails. I do not see that a 230 gr. bullet would gain much over the 250 gr. bullets. I hope Nosler does not discontinue the 286 gr. partition but there are other good 9.3 mm bullets.

An inexpensive light jacket 230 grain cup and core bullet would likely allow folks to buy more bullets, get more trigger time, and get quicker bullet expansion on the smaller critters. One can get a die from Lee that will size down Speer 235 grain Flat points, which ain’t no big trick, but some cheap, readily available 230 grain 9.3mm heads would just be nice. To each his own I guess. Matt FISH!! What a croc, a 9.3x62 with a 286 gr. Nosler or whatever premium at 2400 to 2500 FPS is an awesome killer of anything and a premium bullet like any other caliber is better..Ive shot too many buffalo and big Eland to suggest a cup and core is all that's needed, Ive also used Sierra, Hornadys and particularly liked Woodleighs WEldcore and GS customs monolithics and the old North Forks... Its not much different than a 338 Win when push comes to shove out to at least 300 or more yards. A great caliber. However Im a believer in if I want a 230 gr bullet then give me my 338, if I want a 200 gr. bullet them I will take a 300 magnum, or even a 30-06..I will keep the 9.3x62 for a 286 bullet loaded to its full modern day potential with RL-17..
