Very good rifles for the money. Excellent barrels, good action, good trigger, good stock. I especially like the takedown model. Cons are: stock a little thick in the grip, I prefer a CRF, the magazines could be a bit stouter. I've had 3 of them and have shot others. All have shot from very well to superb.............DJ

I will add they are a bit heavy if you intend to hunt on foot. For the price I think they make a decent product and they have a good reputation.

They are great rifles. They are a known quantity. You can find someone to do as good or perhaps a better job for you for less, and faster, but they won't have the name of H&S Precision. I just don't like the plastic stocks.
Their stocks are heavy and have a tendency to be brittle, and their bedding system is a "V" system, which does not work as well on Remingtons. Overall very good rifles.

I bought one a year ago and love it. I got the SPR version which is mid weight. The gun shot o.k. with factory loads. I got some hand loads through it and got the groups down to 4 shot half inch. They are nice guns, but I have heard the customer service sucks. The thing that made my decision was I shopped around to redo my Rem SS 300 win and by the time you add a barrel and stock and whatever else you need your damn near the price of a new HS. I sold the Remmy and bought the HS. No regrets. I love the gun and think it's good looking to. Not as pretty as a wood stock, but tough and weather resistant.
I own two - the Pro Series L in .300WinMag and the Pro Series 2000 LA in .375H&HMag. I love them and don't have any complaints about the company other than having to wait for a gun to be made just for me! Well worth it in my opinion. The times I've had questions, etc., they've been prompt and helpful and don't talk down to me just because I don't know alot of the lingo. JMO

No. I'm strictly a scope girl. The .300 has a Swaro 2.5-10x42 and the .375 has a Swaro 1.5-6x42. My backup scope is a S&B 3-12x42. I'll try to get some pictures posted over the weekend.

I am getting ready to order a PHR and decided to go with the HS rifle for the reason that Matt300 listed. The addition of the 3-way Win.type safety and the centerfeed magazine also appealed to me. I just need to decide what caliber now. The 9.3x64 Brenneke has been getting serious consideration; 2 more days to decide.
I live 50 miles away and there used to be a gunshop next door. So one day I stopped in. They didn't make me feel very welcome. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Another thing is the fact that OSHA closed their indoor gunrange. So I've shared the local range with them. Once again, I didn't get a good feeling about that company.
So I don't think I will ever buy one. That is, unless I find a deal that I can turn a profit on.

Did you mean the feel of the guns or the feel of the people? As far as guns go, both mine I picked up out of the box, put them up to my shoulder and literally thought nothing had felt like such a perfect fit when shouldered(sp?).
As far as customer service, I emailed on Thursday night about needing an additional magazine for my .375. I got it about half an hour ago.
I called once to prior to receiving my .375 and the guy I usually deal with was on vacation for a couple of days. Trisha talked to me and figured out what I needed and then transferred me to Todd, who was the gunsmith actually working on my rifle. I got info from him on the loads they were using so I could go ahead and get some ammo, and got a bonus direct update on the status of my gun.
Granted, I've never met any of them, but I have absolutely nothing but good things to say. As a rule, I've found most gunsmiths to have quirks and be pretty particular and opinionated. Which of those I can deal with and which I can't, determine who I want to deal with.
