Bolt Rifle Trash...For A Day

Last day of deer season and we need more meat for the freezer. I had carried my Blaser R93 to a deer lease so some of the guys could shoot it. I put on the 300 Win Mag barrel with the Leupold M3 long range scope, the one with the ballistic cam. I thought I might shoot some doe at a distance. My load was a 180gr. Nosler Partition over 73gr. of IMR 4831. They would not cooperate. I shot the first doe at 100 yards. About 2 hours later I shot a doe walking away at a slight angle at 147 yards. Both shots hit behind the shoulder, knocking some big holes in the ribcage, but did not damage too much edible meat.
After each shot recoil recovery was quick and I was able to work the straight pull bolt while keeping the scope on the deer. Both deer went right down, but #2 was able to stand up and take a couple of steps, all the while she was in the scope and I could see the location of the exit wound [she stood up facing the opposite direction], and knew she was in no danger of escaping. She took a couple of steps and went down.
I have used a lot of different bolt actioned rifles in the past, but none I like as well as the Blaser. Everything works right out of the box.

OK How much did Walterhog pay you to make this post? [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
If Saeed hears about this post you could be excommunicated. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
Seriously though great shooting sounds like a lot of fun. Nothing like a good meat hunt. [Wink]

JOHAN The Blaser is an excellent bolt rifle...Especially for a Double Rifle Shooter, as it will "break" in half and fit in a take down case with a double rifle. After all I have to have something to loan my Bolt Rifle Trash friends when there "conventional" bolt guns fail. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
