I had two rifles chambered for the 9.3X62, a Blaser R93 and a CZ550. I needed a new project so I started thinking about trading off the CZ on something, but on what? After listening to Jeff and Michael talk about handy, light, short barreled rifles for months and months I was finally seduced. Yesterday, I took my CZ down to my local gun guy and traded it off on a new .338 Ruger Compact Magnum. I should have it in about a week. Now you're asking why not a WSM. Two reasons. First, I like the design of the RCM better. No rebated rim. Second, Ruger has a rifle specifically designed for its' .300 and .338 RCMs, a handly little thing with a 20 inch barrel. I'll let you know how this all works out but if this crashes, I am blaming Jeff and Michael Dave DRSS Chapuis 9.3X74 Chapuis "Jungle" .375 FL Krieghoff 500/.416 NE Krieghoff 500 NE "Git as close as y can laddie an then git ten yards closer" "If the biggest, baddest animals on the planet are on the menu, and you'd rather pay a taxidermist than a mortician, consider the 500 NE as the last word in life insurance." While your RCM certainly has more whap than my shorties (Savage 308 at 20" and 30-06 at 22") they are real nice to handle and lite. Good luck. But you know, you shoulda added to the collection instead of sold the CZ.

I love the look of the RCMs. Nice choice on the caliber. The 338 RCM is a great package. My short hammer is my CZ 550FS in 9.3x62.
