I've got a couple of boxes of 225 grain BT's just sitting on my desk. They are unusable in a .350 Rem. Mag. because you have to seat them so far in the neck to work in the short Model 7 or 600/660 action that there is no parallel bullet left to grip with the case neck. Does that make any sense? Anyway... I'll use them in my new JDJ-Contender, I guess.

JudgeG They are usable if you aren't restricted by magazine length! I'm planning to use them in a Competitor single shot pistol that I will soon have rechambered from 35 rem. to 350 rem. mag. What bullet are you using in your model 7?

I have had really great results using Barnes X's in 225 grains. I've killed a bunch of deer and several African animals with it. If I remember correctly, I get 2600 fps (according to my Chrony) with not quite a max load of IMR 4320. Accuracy is quite good, usually an inch or so for three shots at 100 meters. Recoil is quite managable, even with the lightweight Custom Shop Model 7. Interestingly, I've tried 180 and 200 Barnes in the rifle and the velocity isn't all that much more so I go with the heavier bullet. [ 03-21-2003, 04:35: Message edited by: JudgeG ]

Just to back up an earlier post, I can't use the 225 gr ballistic tips in either my remington 660 350 mag or my savage 99 .358 win. They work very well in the 35 whelen. Good shooting, Weagle

Gentlemen, I just posted a topic in the Reloading forum about my new .350 Rem Mag Encore barrel. I have some concerns about some fired factory load brass. If you would please take a look at the topic "Rifle Chamber and Brass?" and give some feed back on what I should do. Thank you all very much. Sean Oh BTW, my lot of the 225 B-Tip measures 1.360".
