Does anyone know if the Classic sporter in 30 06 and 270 are the same size barrel contour?

I gotta imagine they would be unless they hold a certain amount of steel above and beyond the bore size in which case the '06 could be .031" larger for stock barrel channel. call them.

I can't imagine them being different - just from an economy of scale perspective.

They are exactly the same.

They are not always the same. It depends upon model year, brand, etc... The TC ICON uses the same contour for both but Winchester 30-06 barrels are thicker than their 270's as an example.

I prefer the heavier contour given a choice and it is a factor in my selection process.

The barrel contour for the Winchester Classic Sporter are the same for all calibers from 25-06 thru 30-06.
