Iknow/I know i sound like a broken record. Please help me fix it. It's time to buy. The only thing i'm sure of is the VX3 2.5-8 .

Will be used mostly for deer and blackbear.
Ranges from 0-400+ yds.
Will be handloading.

Conptiplations:
A7- .270WSM
X-Bolt- .270WSM
Tikka T3- .270WSM

stainless/blued ??? composite/wood ???
If I had any hair left, I would of pulled it all out by now................thanks

Warning: Trespassers will be shot.......survivors will be shot again...........

Mark, if it's down to those, I would choose between the Tikka and A7 because they just have a better trigger typically. BUT, to make the final decision I would shoulder all the rifles and choose the one that felt/fit the best.

All 3 of the rifles you have narrowed down to have a really good rep for accuaracy, and I think quality is similar. All of those rifles are a tough to find aftermarket stuff for, i.e. a different trigger, which is why I would probably lean toward the A7 or Tikka as their stock triggers are better IME.

Good luck to you, I'm sure you'll like any one you pick!

Don't overlook the Savage rifles. My 270 WSM is deadly with a very nice trigger.

I'm still a believer in the .270 Win but you can be different if you like!

I have a VX3 with a B&C reticule & it is awesome for long shots. I would suggest the T3 as it has less "plastic" parts than the Sako & will cost you less.

SS with blue wood is a personal choice base on what other rifles you have and how much rough country / weather you are going to hunt. If it is going to be a workhorse rifle I would go SS (like my Kimber Montana).

Wood - xbolt
Composite - A7

Ss vs blue or matte....that's a hard choice. If it were me id go with the wood/matte finished xbolt. The new trigger is user adjustable and the recoil is very nice.

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

Buy a Weatherby Vanguard in regular 270 Winchester and save yourself $400-$500 for a better rifle than the X-Bolt.

Both the X-Bolt and the Vanguard are built in Japan. Both are built by Howa.

The X-Bolt uses a 3 lug, 60 deg. bolt. It is much more finicky than the Vanguard 2 lug bolt.

The extractor on the Vanguard is much better and the traditional 2 hole scope mounts are also ideal. I do not like the 4 hole X-Bolt scope mounts. It is fancy marketing. If you need a more stable platform then drill/tap the Vanguard to 8-40.

You are paying more money for fancy milling of the receiver with the X-Bolt. That gives it the 3 sided pyramid shape. Looks nice yet has no function in a rifle.

Lastly, the X-Bolt trigger cannot be replaced if you want. The Vanguard can utilise a custom Timney.

Have to laugh as some of responses reminds me of one of the smart guys on here says "ask people the best place to get steak and they tell you really want pork chops". I have a Tikka t3 hunter in 270WSM great rifle and all the Tikka's I have seen have been real shotters. That said I find mine a little miss ballanced for me I like a more nose heavy rifle. My Browning stainless with the boss is a perfect fit for me. So in the end I like the Brown or Tikka which ever you find feels best in your hands. You'll be happy with either choice. Enjoy no feeling in the world better than buy a new rifle.

I vote for the Browning, not cause I have experiance with the X bolt, but the A-blot in .270 wsm is my go to rifle for anything shy of grizz. Just shot a 1/2 out of it yesterday, lookout mulies...

If the 270 won't do it the .338 will, if the 338 won't I can't afford the hunt!
