Hi Montero! Smiler

Nice rifle, with classic lines.I especially like the short forend and long barrel...and ofcouse a classic caliber. Have you marked the rifle 7x57 mauser or .275 Rigby??
The frontsight looks like a H&H frontsight from that period of time Smiler

thank you!

it is marked as the original cartridge, 7x57

and it shoots well, too!

good thing is that point of impact is almost the same with 120gr Hornady's (I will use them in the Autumn when culling roe deer does, Speer's 130gr spitzers (I don't know what to use these on, but they are very accurate, for a hunting rifle), 139gr Interbonds (loaded at 2,880 should do well with hinds) and 150gr TSXs (which I hope to take for South African plains game, soon).

last time at the range it put two of each (8 bullets in total) in less than 2 inches at 100 meters. individually, all shoot in the magic inch except the Speers, normally in the 0.7s"

montero,
Very nice rifle. Two questions. Where was the work done? How much does it weigh?

Lovely. Let us know how those 150-grain TSX's perform on plains game in RSA!

Stu C

the work was done in Spain, by a 'smith called Antonio Arman.

the rifle with itsl 3.5-10 Vari X-III weighs a hefty (these days) 8 pounds.

it is very stable at the bench, and a pleasure to shoot.

Montero,

Very Nice rifle!

8 lbs is a very good weight. I find rifles of that weight & with that barrel length tend to shoot very well offhand. Which can be very important for a hunting rifle.

I too really like the stock. Well done, I hope you have many great hunts with it. If it ever gets too heavy for you let me know, lol.
