Anybody shooting one and have any reloading data to share? I have the A Square reloading manual but it contains a very limited number of powders and only contains data for the 150 and 180 grains. Thanks for any info.
Take a hard look at the 300 Lapua. I have a 26" number seven contour Lilja 10" twist. RL 25 has given me the most speed and accuracy. It will run 3600fps and the brass will fall out of the chamber. I havn't shot it enough to fry the throat but it surely will. Lapua brass is so hard in the head I can get 8-10 loadings. Good stuff if you want an easy super high performance 30.

Thanks for the info and wildboar I appreciate the offer. The A Square manual lists most loads with AA-8700 or H 870 but there has been a number of slow powders that have come out including RL-25 that I imagine would work well. The problem is there really are't many cases out there with data to use for comparison.I always wanted an A square rifle for some unknown reason and came across one this weekend for a price I couldn't pass up.It happened to be chambered for the 300 Pegasus and figured it would be fun to shoot for the 50 or 75 shots it will take to burn out the throat.
Gjn, I doubt whether one can burn out a throat shooting only few dozens of rounds; anyway, it would be a good idea to carefully inspect the rifling in case it's a used rifle. According to QL, the RL25 powder seems to be a little fast, unless you plan to shoot light bullets.
Wildboar, I agree on the round count, it was just a stab at some humor. As to powders I was thinking H50BMG, Retumbo and Vihtavuori N170, 20N29 and 24N41 might be good candidates.I figure as to bullet weight 180 would be a minimum with possibly the 190 to 210's being better with a case that size.
I'd initially looked at building a 300 Pegasus while going through gunsmithing school but time and numerous other things prevented that from happening. I went so far as to purchasing some factory ammo from A-Square for this project. Anyway, I'll probably always have a soft-spot for this cartridge and may still do something in the future. There's no doubt that it is a big, bad-ass cartridge.
BTW, I would like to see what how that new 240-gr. Woodleigh PP would do in this case.

Thanks, I really appreciate the info.I looked into 300 Lapua data but comparing the Pegasus to the 338 Lapua case, the Pegasus is a bit larger.I'm waiting for the dies to arrive and I'll give those loads a try. Thanks again!
