| BTW- I called Kimber and asked about a LA 8400--they were vague but said that they might have something to ship as early as Oct.

| Snowcat, my rifle was built by Match Grade Arms on a recontoured and skeletonized Win mod 70 classic action. 22" #2 taper Pac-Nor match barrel with brake, 20 oz stock. The test target measured .850". It's a fine rifle and I think the Kimber Montana is also a fine rifle that is also an ultra-light and shoots just as well. The two Kimbers I have, a Montana and a french walnut stocked .300 WSM, both shoot .80". The MGA came with a few problems and is on its' way back. The guys there were very gracious about it and I believe they will make it right. It is a very well balanced and quick handling rifle. |

| Cobrad--appreciate the info--sounds like a great mountain rifle. I'll look into MGA but may wait to do anything until I hear whether Kimber comes out with a 338 Montana.

| If Kimber comes out with a .338 Montana I would jump on it. I would have waited on the MGA had I any idea Kimber might be coming out with a LA. I was load testing my Montana .243 today and shot a 5 shot that came in right at 1/2", and the closest 3 were just over .2". This was using the "ladder method", with the charge of each round increased by .3 gr to find "nodes" in the barrel harmonics where the rifle shoots best. I will try get out again tomorrow to further test two specific charge weights. |

| Coyotes are raising hell out the window. I guess I better finish the load development on the .243 fast. |
