I was given some Winchester 150gr. Power Point factory ammo when I bought my 7mm STW.It shot them really well so I decided to buy some bullets for reloading.WOW! shot a one ragged hole three shot group with them.Looks like I may have to give them a try on deer and hogs this coming season.Anybody use them and how do they perform at high velocities?

Have not used the Winchester bullets much, but I shoot a bucket full of the Remingtons every year. Shoot great and perform well on game.

They are a bullet designed for the 7x57 so I suspect they are too soft for your gun...Any 7 mag should be shooting Noslers or one of the super premiums. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

I have shot them in my 280 Rem since I got it in '93 and have taken several truckloads of whitetails with them. They work very well.

I wouldnt hesitate to shoot hogs or prairie dogs or does with them but for anything you might consider a 'trophy' I would move up to something bonded or better...

I reload 130gr Win Power Points in .270 Win for whitetails and they are great and cheap! Not a whitetail on the planet that you need a "premium" bullet for. Steve

I shoot the 130 Winchester, Hornady, And Serria. They all shoot good in my 270 Win.

First bullet I ever fired through my current 7mm Remington Magnum was the 150gr Power Point. My rifle likes lighter bullets unfortunately but it shot the PP's not too bad. Blooded it against a whitetail, bullet penetrated completely and left a massive exit wound. Shot was about 220 yards. I agree with Ray, they are a bit softer then I'd like for close range shooting in a magnum cartridge. Great though for long range or in .280 Rem and slower cartridges. I'd give the 150gr Partition a try, the front end will expand quickly and the back end will stay intact and push on through. Had good results with 139gr. Interbond but that's only because my gun hates heavy bullets My wife won't let me use that as justification enough to buy a new one, either My .270 will shoot the 150gr. PP's just fine, but is about 350 fps slower than my Remington Magnum with the same weight. ________ "...And on the 8th day, God created beer so those crazy Canadians wouldn't take over the world..."

I have a buddy who used to shoot 150 PPs out of his 7Mag. He said they worked great and blew right through the average sized Whitetail deer he was shooting. Still gonna run a bit slower than STW, but most of the deer were shot under 100 yards. Lou
