A friend has just read an advertisement for a Brno ZG47 in 8x68S . The claim was it was a custom shop from Brno. I have a 602 in 8x68 but have not heard of a ZG47 in this cartridge.
Have you Alf ?

Brno had "standard offerings " in the Galas rifle ( ZG) and then they advertised that they would offer "non standard" calibers as long as it fitted their action and magazine but without major alteration.

If it were a factory " custom" offering the barrel would be stamped with the same stamps and fonts in stamps and in a manner consistent with the standard rifle.

The interesting thing is that Brno's first rum of ZG's were in 9.3x62 and their most popular caliber was the 8x64 S

Thank you Alf . From the pictures it appears to be genuine from what you have written . A friend was thinking about buying it but the owner had a change of heart ,pulling it off the market.
He said only 3 were built and the asking price was $13,000 .

13,000 for a Brno ZG 47 Wow that is a lot of money for what was once a very common rifle albeit in a not so common caliber offering ? I guess that If that price is realized it is what that particular gun market will support. It's way more than a Oberndorf sporting Mauser which intrinsically carries higher value.
