The last 6 bronze 30 caliber brushes I have bought have been on the small size and push through the bore with very little resistance. The were by Pro Shot. I was wondering if it would hurt a .30 caliber bore to use a .32 caliber brush in a 30 caliber bore. I shot F class matches and most of the time shoot 60 shots for record in a day of shooting plus 6 sighters and 2 to 3 fouling rounds before the match. So even with very good custom barrels there is a considerable amount of powder fouling in the throat area. A bronze brush with some body sure speeds up the powder fouling removal. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Shoot Safe, Shoot Straight......RiverRat

The world's best bronze brushes are presently made by Raetz, in Germany. They are really leagues above Parker-Hale and all others. They are also represented on the web: http://www.raetz-online.de Regards, Carcano

I don't know if this might be it, but I had the same thing happening a couple years back and relized it was because I was using a copper solvent (Shooter's choice I believe) and the brushes were actually getting eaten away a bit as well. I would get a new brush, use it a couple times and it would be too loose. Red

I use only nylon brushes from Brownell's, for the reason stated above. Solvent has no effect on them. They fit & work fine.
