excellent choices. for came money i would have to vote for the 3200. i love leupys but the rain guard does work on the 3200. the weight is similar and the glass is equal IMO.
look through em' both at the store. it is what your eyes see that counts.

I just posted on Bushnell Elite (Baush & Lomb Elite) scopes on this thread

other thread

I haven't examined a Leupold VX1 scope and my scopes were the 4200 series, so my comments refer to top of each company's line. I'd be interested in reading how the economy model in each line compares. Anybody...?

My choice would be the 3200.I have one 3000 myself and several friends have 3000's and 3200's.All work well with no problems.

I have have the 2.5-10x40-- 4200 on my 7 stw and the 3-9x40-- 3200 on my 300wby that was on my 30-378. The scopes are clear and hold impact point-no problem with my guns. The rain guard has worked for me more than 2 times in snow and rain. Life time no hassel guarantee. [Wink]

i hunted most of last year with a bushnell 3200 in 3x9 and it is ok, the rain guard actually works but i always had a spare rifle at the camp and it is not as clear on the edges.it did hold zero all year with a 7rem mag -9 hogs & 1 deer.. i hunted with he old vari x11 for probably 15 years when they were the best i could afford.

net, net i'd go with a leupold, you can drive nails with them and australia is i long way off from customer service.. i have had ocassion to use busnenll service on a 4000 and all i can say is good luck
