I'm loading some ballistic tips in my 8X57 Remington classic and I'm thinking they are constructed for 325 wsm velocities. What I'm wondering is are these built heavier than smaller caliber BTs. Just curious how they are going to perform. Anyone taken game with them in this caliber or cartridge?

Nosler has bene making 8mm BT's for a long time.

Certainly the what, YEAR? or was it more like eight months? that winchester was making 325WSM's didn't affect Nosler's design of the bullet.

For what it's worth the 325WSM does NOT appear in the current Nosler manual (#5) and I'll take bets that it doesn't appear in the #6 manual whenever Nosler gets around to printing them.

So I suspect your ballistic tips will do fine and anything you are likely to launch them at.

Ok, are these built heavier than the smaller caliber BT's? Say from .308 caliber down. I've used the smaller calibers but nothing over 30 cal.

I loaded some to 3,250 in my 8 Mag for an antelope hunt. I shot one antelope at 190yrds behind the shoulder. The bullet exited leaving an exit wound the size of a quarter.

Thanks allen and cfore. I'm going to section one and take a look. I have some in .277 and I'll do the same to one of those. Sounds like they were made heavier to me. With my slower velocities it should hold together well. It's also the first bullet i've been able to get to shoot consistently in this rifle. I'm going to try TSX's next. They should do real well as they have in other rifles. Thanks

Nosler was making 8MM BTs before the WSM. You might call and ask Nosler. I have never called them but I have called Speer and Speer will tell you about their bullets.

I believe they were made with the 8mm Rem mag in mind.
