Now that they have been on the market for a spell wondering if anyone has been loading them. I am almost recovered from shoulder surgery and want to get back to loading and shooting the little thumper. Not sure where to start. I like TAC and Benchmark. Contact CEB directly - by phone or email - and they can help you with loading information. Jim "Life's hard; it's harder if you're stupid" John Wayne

I sure hope so, because the email I got from Hodgdon was less than inspirational. They basically told me I was out of luck. They couldn't even recommend starting loads. I plan to post the email response down in the reloading forum. Andy We Band of Bubbas N.R.A Life Member TDR Cummins Power All The Way Certified member of the Whompers Club

You treat the CEB like any other solid bullet, i.e., Nos Partition or other H-mantle types, FMJ or solid brass bullet. Pick a powder for the bullet weight and case size, start at the beginning load and work up slowly watching for pressure signs. I would pick a pistol bullet like the Hornady 160 gr XTP's, seat in the cannelure at about 2.4" ROUGHLY WHATEVER THE COAL HAPPENS TO END UP...and start with about 55 gr of RL-17 or 19, or WW748. That will give you some where in the neighborhood of 2200 fs, a ~100% density fill and 14-16 ftlbs of recoil in an 8 lb rifle. I would save those pricey CEB's for full house loads when you are up to it. You can get some real hairy velos with the pistol bullets with the faster burning powders like RL-7 and 10, AA 1680, and X-terminator.
