I received my box of 140 gr TSX for my 270 WSM yesterday and will do some pressure tests to see if I can throw out some Max loads tonight.

Anyone loading this bullet in their 270WSM? Whats your load, what velocity and accuracy and have you killed any game with it yet? How did it perform?

I'll let you know how the development goes through out the week.

I have 2 T3 Tikka LS 270WSM - but have not been to the range yet with reloaded 140gr. TSX. I got a sweet load using Retumbo with 140gr. Accubonds-under 1/2" groups. Going to try the same with the TSX. Hope things work good for the TSX. I want to try the MRX also when a person can get them, or the new XP3 bullet-if available for reloaders.

The 140 AB is my load at the moment and there is nothing wrong with it. I want to step up the velocity and weight retention a bit because I'll be on a 14 day horseback hunt in the Northern Rockies for Elk/Moose/Stone Sheep and there is no shortage of griz in the area. May even end up with a griz draw, albeit a long shot.

I'll enter that hunt with the 140 AB if the 140 gr TSX don't work out. I may look at some 150 gr bullets before the hunt comes in August.

I have a Model 70 Winchester Ultimate Shadow with Stainless 24 inch barrel. I have loaded and shot the 140 grain bullets extensively in the last three months. My rifle favors the 140 grain bullets over all other weights. I have shot the Nosler Accubond, Barnes TSX, Sierra Gameking, and am starting on the Nosler Partition next session. At present the Barnes TSX with 64 grains of RL-22 with the Fed 210M primer is my only one holer so far. Because I can't repeat it as often as I would like I am still playing around. I am getting an average of 3300 fps with that load. I would not start at 64 grains, walk you way up there. This .270 WSM is a real winner in my opinion. wave thumb Good shooting.

Had pretty good results first time out.

I walked up to max listed loads with 3 powders and each of the 3 max loads shot about an inch or a little under and velocity was over 3100 fps each. kind of makes it hard to focus on one powder though.

RL22, H4831, H1000

Kind of nice using the X. Usually my OAL Gauge reads way too long for my mag in my T3. Seating the X back the .050 they suggest gives me the perfect fit for the mag.
