I just got back my 338-06 A Square after having my Ruger M77 Hawkeye (.270) rebarreled by Pac-Nor. I went with a 23" factory contour with 1:9 twist. Pac-Nor also did the fitting to the action and trued/squared the action as well. I think it turned out quite nicely and I plan to shoot it this weekend!

She is topped with a Leupold 2.5-8x36 VX3

I suppose so. That is actually my dad's nickname (he passed away in April). He and I had talked about me getting a 338-06 built but we never got around to it. I guess that is just my corny way of remembering him in a small way.

Remembering one's dad is hardly corny. Good of you to do so.

Now, if you had John Wayne's likeness engraved onto the floorplate... Wink

Yeeeeeeeeha, another 338-06 lover to help control the WM crowd around here!

RL 15 an 210 TTSX and you can kill everything in N. America and most of the rest of the world.

She will shoot very well indeed.
