There's a major problem somewhere, obviously, especially since your buddy's rifle's doing the same thing. I actually saw a 700 one time that had no rifling in the last 2" of the barrel before the muzzle!! Seems hard to believe that problem would occur on two other ones, tho.. Try some W-W "standard" 130 P-P ammo (about $12 at Wal-Mart). I've yet to see a 270 that didn't do 1.5" or better (some a LOT better) with that stuff. If they won't shoot that, send 'em both back. No reason to put up with a product that won't work.

Some Rem. 700 rifles need a tune up before they will shoot small groups. So far the Rem.700 LS 221 Rem Fireball I have has had the trigger pull adjusted from 7# t0 3.2 #,glassed bedded front reciever ring, barrel free floated and the bolt locking lugs lapped. Next step is to have the muzzle recrowned. If I cant get it to shoot 3/4 inch groups ,it will be sold. My other Rem.700 BDL 25-06 shoots 3/4 inch groups after a tune up. --Good luck -- Any work on a Rem. rifle will void their warrenty.

I'll give ya $100 for it My 700 mnt rifle shot a .5moa group the first 4 shots outa the barrel. I hit the right combo the first time, 1-ditch the high power ammo and try some standard factory, 2-better yet try some standard reloads or do what I did and measure the throat and load some mid power rounds to set just off the lands. The first four reloads I ever shot were the same .5moa group. Now this is with the Hornady SST, with the interbonds I am lucky to get a 2moa 3 shot group. See below http://groups.msn.com/ThePoseyClan2/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=38 3- I'll give ya $100 for it
