I have an opportunity to purchase a used rifle. I can't find any information about the maker. It is a Garrett Accur-lite rifle. It weighs 6.75 lbs with scope. I appears to have a Mcmillan stock. The barrel is a #2 or 2.5 sporter weight. Caliber is 338 mag. It has been magnaported. It is built on a sake L 61 AIII action. I think the person that had it was from AK. Can anyone give me any info on this rifle. Thanks, Pharms

I used to see Garrett mentioned a lot in 80s/early 90s gun mags. Don't know whatever happened to him, but he was one of the trendy guys for a while - especially for lightweight stuff. I have one rifle - a custom .280 Remington built on a 700 action for John Barsness by Dave Gentry that has a Garrett Accur-lite stock. The stock is stiff and light. I thought he was from Colorado, but could be wrong. Lou

I remember his rifles I even got a catalog from him... I am not sure McMillian made his stocks, as they were very light... DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

He had a shop in Ft Collins, CO. I visited him there once back in the 90s. Don't know what happened to him or his operation, though. I recall he seemed to be well thought of, and was written up in the gun mags a few times.
