Shot my new 280
Its a CDL SF and put a 4-16x50 Nikko Sterling on top.
Friend gave me about 30, 140gr game kings just to break it in.
Loaded up about 15 of these with 55.0 grs RL 19, R-P case, and Federal GM210M primer.
Shot about 10 shots cleaning between each shot.
Once zeroed shot a couple shots bullet holes were touching. Not bad first load and just trying to break it in
Had one loaded shell left. From my bench to the woods is 300 yds. Have a salt block in the field 225 yards out.
Shot salt block with the last shell and it split the salt block plum into.
Wasn't trying to fine tune it just breaking it in. I think I like this 280 stuff already.
Im going to load up some bergers and try them next. Hope they shoot as good as they Sierra's appear to be so far
Sounds like you've got a keeper.

merganser1My 280 was my first bolt action and should have been my last! Great caliber and those Sierra's are very accurate. Merg

Gary SurkoIf there's anything better then a 280, God kept it for himself.

I sold mine to my brotherinlaw and got a 7MM-08. I like it better than the 280 being a short action with the same 140 24" shooting about 2940 fps 280 with a 22" is right at 2975..
