In the cz instruction manual I got with my .416 Rigby I see a rifle that has caught my eye. It is the CZ Battue and it comes in 9.3x62 do any 9.3x62 shooters own this version ?? Can it also be used with a leupold compact 2.5x scope ?? It can be had with either a 520mm or 560mm barrel. I think the 520mm barrel model would make a great pig rifle. What does everyone else think ??

The lux or American might however be more versatile.

PC, The lux or American might however be more versatile.[/QUOTE] Absolutely, the battue of FS has a short barrel used only in "Battue" in EU. As in Australia you hunt with different ways, the longer barrel will be more versatile for you. I'd go with the Lux model.

Thanks BER007, have you handled a cz battue or know any of your friends who own one ??. I think your right though the lux would be better.

PC, Any of my friends have a CZ battue. I have only handle but not shoot a CZ Lux. Great rifle and with this model you have open rear sight and you can have as alernative equipment an ajustable trigger in place of ajustable trigger set. With the SZ battue you haven't these possibilities.

The Battue would be an outstanding rifle for hunting in the forests of the eastern US. We have so many different hunting environments that there is no such thing as one single type of rifle that does it all well.

What I am really interested in knowing is can a scope be fitted with that ramp on. I am thinking mainly about a compact 2.5x leupold ?? or would the ramp obscure the scope. I think the lux would be the preffered optio. One advantage of the "American" model it is furnished with mounts. But I kind of like the look of those hogs back stocks, they kind of grow on you a bit. KS duck hunter the battue 9.3x62 might make a good rifle for people who fish in bear country. With 320 gr woodleigh's it should get the job done and it would be handy with that short barrel.
